Most hotels have strict policies and guidelines plus well-trained and honest staff that do their best to protect you and your possessions, but it only takes one dishonest or unreliable staff member to put you at risk. You are depending on the diligence of the hotel staff to ensure they ask for identification before issuing another copy of the access key. Whether they live in the area of the hotel or not, strolling up to the hotel saying they lost their key. Think about the possibility of one of those staff members giving access to the hotel to one of their friends and it just adds to number of people that can and may have access to your room. The bigger the hotel the more people that have access to your room any time of the day.

Friends of a front desk member of staff that is not honest.

Security personnel that may need to get into the room.

Maintenance personnel that need to go into different rooms to make repairs.

Cleaning staff supervisors that supervise the cleaners and check their work.

Cleaning staff that need to clean the rooms daily.

Just some of the people that may have 24hr access to your hotel room whether you’re in it or not include: However, what you need to realize is that many more employees can easily access your hotel room and that means putting a lot of trust in mostly strangers. Sometimes these employees need access to your room as a part of their daily tasks, so them having a card that accesses your room makes sense.

Hotels large and small all employ a large number of staff. Once you’re in the room, you feel safe and secure knowing you have the only cards that access that room. Sometimes they give you one of these cards, sometimes more.

They program that key in a machine at the front desk to open your door only. These days, the majority of hotels use plastic key cards that they program and give to you for entry into your room. When you stay at a hotel room, you may not realize how many people have access to your room. The pictures were taken by me on January 21st 2012 in my hotel room. The locks come with their own travel pouches.The following pictures will help you understand how and why to use the Addalock in your hotel. The Addalock is made from chrome plated carbon steel and together with its unique shape makes it adjustable to almost any door thickness. The Addalock is an ideal travel lock that you can use on your hotel/motel or rental unit and ideal for students away at college. Addalock can be installed on the front door or any other doors of your home where you require that additional privacy.

ADDA LOCK PORTABLE

The Addalock is a portable door lock that can be easily installed and removed in seconds on almost any hinged door that opens inwards giving you added privacy once you are locked behind it. Keep the Addalock close and handy so you can reuse it. The door can now be opened which will release the Addalock ’s body from the strike plate. Remove: To remove the Addalock lift the RED handle and remove the moving metal rod from the triangular hole. Note: Once you have completed the above steps the Addalockhandle should be wedged against the door.

The RED handle will slide down till it locks the door in place. Step 6: Take the RED handle (image 4) and insert the moving metal rod (image 4) into the triangular hole of the body of the lock (seen in image 6) on the side between the Addalock ’s chrome body and the door handle. The Addalock chrome body is now locked in place. Step 5: Once the claws of the Addalock ’s chrome body are inserted into the strike of the door frame close the door. Step 4: The Red Handle with the moving metal rod. Step 3: Open door towards you and insert the claws of the Addalock into the strike of the door. Note: Do not force the door shut if there is no room.

Insert the flat back of the Handle Stamped “TEST TO FIT” (image1) between your door and the frame where the lock is. If it fits smoothly then you have the space to insert the Addalock.
